Select Mobile App Contacts

Goal​

To create a selection rule that selects contacts who have installed a certain mobile app.

Prerequisites​

The setup for sending mobile app messages with Engage is finished.

Background Information​

A selection is required to identify your mobile app contacts. This makes it possible to set up subscription processes in Engage.

Procedure

1. In the main navigation, click ​Audience​ > Segmentation > Selection.
2. Click ​Create​.
3. Enter a ​Name​ for the selection. The name must be unique in the system and should help you identify the purpose of the selection.
4. In the ​Data Selection​ area, select the ​Profile​ radio button.

5. From the ​Attribute​ drop-down list, choose one of these attributes:

   Attribute	Description
   appid_100	A date field that shows when the contact downloaded the app. The number shown after _ identifies your app.
   appid_100_opt_in_devices	A string field that lists all devices on which the contact allows the app to receive push notifications. The number shown after _ identifies your app.

6. Click ​Create​.
   ⇒ The attribute displays in the ​Condition​ area.
7. In the ​Condition​ area, select the ​"is not empty"​ operator from the drop-down list.
8. Click ​Save. The selection can be used for sendouts, in automations, in the CMS and to transfer contacts between groups
