Action

Description

Export

Exports the selected data as a CSV file.

When the file is ready, Mapp Engage sends a notification email to the system user who started the export. To access the file, click the link in the notification email.

The export is saved in the database for seven days.

Settings

The List Type setting determines which members of the group are included in the export. Contacts are included in the export according to the selected membership status. The following options are available:

Setting

Description

 All Members

Exports all members of the group.

Active Members

Exports all contacts with active member status.

 Self-subscribers

Exports all the contacts who enrolled themselves in the group (for example, via a subscription form).

Unsubscriptions

Exports all contacts who unsubscribed from the group (for example, via an unsubscribe link).

Deactivated

Exports all contacts with deactivated member status. Deactivated group members no longer receive the messages that are sent to the group. This status can be the result of responses. The contact is still a group member even if they are deactivated system-wide.

Pending

Exports all contacts who have not yet accepted their invitation to become a member of the group and have the Pending or Awaiting Approval status.

More options are displayed based on the list type you select. Select the corresponding check box to include this data in the export file. Different options are available for each list type. Some options are only available for specific list types.

Membership Status

Creation Date

Exports the date each contact was added to the group. With a single opt-in subscription, this date is the same as the subscription date. With double opt-in and confirmed subscription, this date is either when the contact was invited to join the group or the date they requested membership.

Advanced Options

Option

Description

Encoding

Defines the character set used for the contact list export.

Time Zone

Defines which time zone is used to represent the date and time of subscription and unsubscription for each contact.

Use Contact Time Zone

Overrides the Time Zone setting. The time zone set in each contact profile determines date of subscription or unsubscription. When the time zone is not set in the contact profile, the default time zone of the group is used.

Example:

The Time Zone attribute for contact A is set to Europe/Berlin [GMT+01:00].

Contact A and group Z both have a Time Zone setting of Europe/Berlin [GMT+01:00].

The Time Zone attribute for contact B is set to America/New_York [GMT-05:00].

Both contacts are members of a group with the default time zone set to Europe/Berlin [GMT+01:00].

Contact A unsubscribes from the group at 13:00 in Berlin.

Contact B unsubscribes from the group at precisely the same moment in New York.

Use Contact Time Zone On: The unsubscription time that is recorded for contact A is 13:00. The time that is recorded for contact B is 08:00.

Use Contact Time Zone Off: The unsubscription time that is recorded for both contacts is based on the time zone that is selected in the Time Zone drop-down list. If there is no time zone that is selected for this setting, the default time zone of the group is used. The unsubscription time that is recorded for both contacts is 13:00.
