What can I do in this window?

  • Configure how Mapp Engage handles responses to messages that are sent in the group.
  • Set the from address for group email sendouts.
  • Define an outbound mobile ID for the group.

Email Reply Handling

When you send an email with Mapp Engage, your recipients can reply directly to the email. These replies can include many different types of messages:

  • Automatic responses
  • Questions
  • Service Requests
  • Feedback

You can define how Mapp Engage handles these reply messages.

The reply handling method that you select affects the Reply To address in the email header. When a recipient clicks the Reply button in an email, the Reply To address displays in the To field of the reply email automatically.

Email Reply Handling Method

Description

Send Directly to Address

Replies are sent directly to an email address that you define. The replies are not sent to Mapp Engage first.

Mapp Engage does not handle, track, or filter the replies in any way. The email address that you define becomes the reply address for the sendout. Therefore, the email address the group uses for sendout does not match the address to which the group sends replies.

Store in IMAP (Include Auto-responses)

Mapp Engage stores a copy of every message in your IMAP folder.

Store in IMAP (Exclude Auto-responses)

Mapp Engage filters the replies for auto-responses, such as out-of-office messages.

Send to Message Author

Send to All Group Members

Mapp Engage sends the reply to all group members. This option is not appropriate for commercial use. To send a reply, the recipient must have permission to send messages in Mapp Engage. The recipient must enter their Mapp Engage password in square brackets [ ] in the subject line of the message.

Treat as Unsubscribe Request

Mapp Engage unsubscribes group members who send a reply from within the group. The contact receives an unsubscribe confirmation. The unsubscribe is recorded in the statistics for the message.

Ignore and Delete

Ignores and immediately deletes every incoming email to the system. Mapp Engage does not take any further action. This setting is not recommended.

Some reply options allow you to define a name and email address.

  • Name: Defines the name of the person to whom the reply is sent.
  • Email: This input field defines a specific, individual reply address. Input of an email address is required.
You can enter personalisation placeholders in these input fields. If a valid from address cannot be generated from the placeholders during sendout, the name and email address of the group are used.
