When configuring custom parameters ("Mapp Q3 > Custom Parameters"), you can set the number of parameter values. By doing so you determine if you want to submit single information or multiple information at the same time.

The operating principle is illustrated in 2 examples.
Example 1: Page parameter "Error Messages"
All error messages should be tracked in this parameter, that occurs when sending a form.
The example shows the submission of multiple information in the page parameter "Error Messages".
- Page: checkout.step1_address
- Page parameter "Error Messages": title missing;postal code incorrect
The semicolon serves as a separator between both values.
No matter which option you choose, both error messages are depicted in the analysis "Error Messages". The difference exists in the connection possibilities with other dimensions:
- "Several Values"
By selecting "Several Values" you can additionally analyze, how often an error message was measured on a page.
Thus, both "title missing" as well as "postal code incorrect" are assigned to the page "checkout.step1_address".
- "Single Value"
By selecting "Single Value" only the first parameter value has a connection to the dimension.
Thus, in the depicted example you would only know for the error message "title missing", on which page it was measured. For "postal code incorrect" no page is shown.
Example 2: E-Commerce parameter "Product Color"
This example shows, which aspects have to be taken into account when combining parameters, that each has multiple values. For instance, this is often the case for e-commerce parameters.
In the example, the e-commerce parameter "Product Color" is submitted on the order confirmation page.
- Products: Pant_123;Jacket_456
- E-Commerce parameter "Product Color": green;blue
The semicolon serves as a separator between both values.
No matter which option you choose, both colors are depicted in the analysis "Product Color". The difference exists in the connection possibilities with other dimensions:
- "Several Values"
By selecting "Several Values" you can additionally analyze, which product had which color.
This means, "Pant_123" was green and "Jacket_456" was blue.
- "Single Value"
By selecting "Single Value" only the first parameter value has a connection to the dimension.
Thus, in the depicted example you would only know, that the product "Pant_123" is "green". For "blue" no product is shown.
