What's a Standard Scope?

Mapp Intelligence links dimensions and metrics in different ways to user activity. This link is referred to as the standard scope.

What do I need this information for?

This information is important to interpret data correctly and to effectively create filters and custom metrics. It is, for example, important to answer the following questions:

  • What does a metric mean if I combine it with a specific dimension?
  • How are dimensions linked in a Pivot table?
  • Which scopes are available in which filters?

Standard Scopes of Dimensions

The table below shows the standard scope of each dimension. We distinguish the following types of dimensions:

  • Standard Dimension: A dimension that is predefined in Mapp Intelligence.
  • Custom Parameters: A dimension for a custom parameter. We distinguish between whether a single value is passed or multiple values are passed.
  • Process-related Dimension: For each process, there are the dimensions "Process Steps" and "Exit Process Steps". The name of the dimension starts with the name of the corresponding process.
  • Custom Category: There is a dimension for each category that was configured.

Figures

The table below shows the standard scope of each metric. To provide a complete list of all figures, the table also includes formulas. We distinguish the following types of metrics and formulas:

  • Standard Metric: A predefined metric in Mapp Intelligence.
  • Standard Formula: A predefined formula in Mapp Intelligence.
  • Custom Parameter: A figure for a custom parameter. The figure consists of the name of the parameter and a list of its values. We distinguish between whether a single value is passed or multiple values are passed.
  • Process-related figure: For each process, there exist figures as listed below. The name of the dimension starts with the name of the corresponding process.
  • Custom Category: For each category (of the type figure) that was configured, there exist figures as listed below.
