Goal

To send a system message via SMS.

Prerequisites

Sending SMS messages is an extra feature of Mapp Engage. Before you can send SMS messages, you must do the following.

  1. Work with your account manager to register the necessary codes and keywords for SMS. For more information, see SMS Code Types.
  2. Create one or more dedicated groups for SMS sendout. For instructions, see Create a New Group
  3. In the group settings, define the inbound mobile ID, outbound mobile ID, and reply handling. For instructions, see Define the Inbound Mobile ID.

Background Information

System messages can be sent as email or SMS message.

The default sendout channel is email. This is true even if SMS messaging is enabled for your system.

You must manually enable the system messages you want to send via SMS. You must enable SMS sendout for each message and each language individually. It is possible to send a system message via SMS for one group only.
