  1. In the Main Navigation menu, click Statistics.
    ⇒ The Group Message Statistics Overview​ window opens.
  2. Click Split Statistics​.
     
    The Split Message Center​ window opens.

The Split Message Summary Tab​

The ​Split Message Summary​ tab is displayed by default when the drop-down list item Split Statistics is selected. This tab displays the most important KPIs for split sendouts. The figures aggregate the results from all messages sent within split sendout. Information for the individual messages are displayed on the Split Analysis tab.

Areas of Information​

  • Delivery Performance: The  ​Delivery Performance​ area provides information about the sendout and delivery for all messages sent within the split sendout. The KPIs shown here include all split messages, including those that were included in the main sendout.

    • Accepted Rate: This entry displays the percentage of messages that were accepted by the receiving Message Transfer Agent (MTA). It does not distinguish whether messages were delivered to the inbox, spam, or junk folders. Accepted messages are thus all messages that arrived at the email client server and did not produce a bounce.

      The Accepted Rate is calculated as follows:

      Accepted Rate = Accepted messages within the split sendout / Split Sendout
    • Split Sendout: This entry shows the sum of all messages sent successfully through the Engage Message Transfer Agent (MTA).

    • Accepted: This entry shows the total number of messages that were accepted by the email provider's Message Transfer Agent (MTA).

    • Bounced: This is the number of messages that were rejected by the receiving server.

    • Skipped: This entry shows the total number of addresses which were sorted out of all split messages by the system before sendout.

    • Pie Chart: This chart provides a graphical representation of all sent messages. The chart is divided into Accepted Rage, Hard Bounce Rage and Soft Bounce Rate. By scrolling your mouse over the slices of the pie chart, the percentage for each category is displayed. The pie chart can be printed or exported as a graphic. The KPIs shown here include all split messages, including those that were included in the main sendout.
      Accepted Rate: This entry displays the percentage of messages that were accepted by the receiving Message Transfer Agent (MTA). It does not distinguish whether messages were delivered to the inbox, spam, or junk folders. Accepted messages are thus all messages that arrived at the email client server and did not produce a bounce.

      ​Accepted Rate = Accepted messages within the split sendout / Split Sendout

      Soft Bounces Rate:  This entry shows the number of soft bounces divided by the number of messages rejected by the receiving MTA.

      The Soft Bounces Rate is calculated as follows:

      Soft Bounces Rate = Soft Bounces within the split sendout / Split Sendout​

      Hard Bounces Rate:  This entry shows the number of hard bounces divided by the number of messages rejected by the receiving MTA.

      The Hard Bounces Rate is calculated as follows:

      Hard Bounces Rate = Hard Bounces within the split sendout / Split Sendout​

      Print: The drop-down list item  ​Print​  prints the chart.
      Export: The drop-down list item  ​Export​  exports the chart as an image file.

  • Recipient Activity: The Recipient Activity area provides information for all activities that take place after successful delivery of all messages sent within the split sendout and their associated recipients. The KPIs shown here include all split messages, including those that were included in the main sendout.

    • Comparative Time Distribution: This link opens the ​Comparative Time Distribution​ window (see Comparative Time Distribution (window)​), which provides a graphical representation of openings and clicks for all sent messages for a selected time frame. The main sendout (if available) is not included in the comparative time distribution.

    • Confirmed Open Rate: The Confirmed Open Rate displays the number of opened messages divided by the number of accepted messages.

      The Confirmed Open Rate is calculated as follows:

      Confirmed Open Rate = Confirmed Opens within the split sendout / Accepted messages within the split sendout​
    • Confirmed Openers: This entry displays the number of recipients who opened a message.

    • Confirmed Opens: This entry displays the total number of times a message was opened.

    • CTR: The CTR (Click Through Rate) displays the number of recipients that clicked on any link divided by the number of accepted messages.

      CTR is calculated as follows:

      CTR = Clickers within the split sendout / Accepted messages within the split sendout​
    • CTO: The Click-To-Open Rate displays the number of recipients that clicked on any link divided by the number of confirmed openers.

      CTO is calculated as follows:

      Click-To-Open Rate = Clickers within the split sendout / Confirmed Openers within the split sendout​
    • Clickers: This entry displays the sum of recipients that clicked on any link.

    • Total Clicks: This entry displays the total number of clicks on the message.

    • Forwarders: This entry displays the number of recipients who forwarded the message using our system's forward function.

    • Bar Chart: The bar chart provides a graphical representation of the opens and clicks recorded for all sent messages. By scrolling your mouse over the bars of the chart, the actual number for each category is displayed. The bar chart can be printed or exported as a graphic. The KPIs shown here include all split messages, including those that were included in the main sendout.
      Confirmed Openers: This entry displays the number of recipients who opened a message.
      Clickers: This entry displays the sum of recipients that clicked on any link.
      Print: The drop-down list item  ​Print​  prints the chart.
      Export: The drop-down list item  ​Export​  exports the chart as an image file.

  • Losses and Potential Reach: This area displays problems that occurred during sendout and delivery of the split sendout, and how many forwards resulted from the split messages.
    Addresses Lost: This area displays the numbers of addresses that are no longer available for contact in future sendouts. Addresses may be "lost" either due to an automatic process (invalid domains, hard bounces) or because of a recipient's reaction to your mail (spam complaints, unsubscribes) (see Deactivation (tab)​). The figures for the KPIs shown here include all split messages, including those that were included in the main sendout.

    • Unsubscribes: This entry shows the number of unsubscribe requests from a received message generated by the unsubscribe link contained in the split message.

    • Hard Bounces: This entry displays the number of hard bounces, that is delivery failure due to a permanent condition such as a non-existent email address.

    • Spam Complaints: This entry shows the number of messages flagged as spam by recipients in their inbox. As not every email provider reports this activity back to the system, the actual number of spam complaints may be higher.

    • Invalid Domains: This entry displays the number of messages that could not be delivered due to a domain deemed invalid by the Engage MTA and were removed before the split message sendout.
      Additional Sends:  This area displays the number of additional recipients who received the message through various actions, but were not included in the initial split sendout.

    • Total Forwards: This entry displays the number of messages which were forwarded using the Engage forward function. Forwards directly from the email client (e.g. Outlook, Gmail) cannot be calculated.

  • Conversions: This area displays the most important KPIs for evaluating the success of your campaigns. The calculation is based on all messages sent within the split sendout.

    • View Details:  This link opens the  ​Conversions​ window (see Conversions (window)​) in which conversions can be analyzed, whether message based or collected from all sources.

    • Conversion Rate: This entry displays the percentage of Conversions (Unique) divided by the the recipients of a message.

      This Conversion Rate is calculated as follows:

      Conversion Rate = Conversions (Unique) within the split sendout / Accepted messages within the split sendout​
    • Conversions (Unique): This entry displays the number of unique recipients who completed a conversion. This entry is not specific to one conversion tracking. That is, every recipient who completes a conversion (regardless of which specific conversion it is) is included here. The Conversions (Unique) is calculated on the basis of the last click activity in this message. For more information, see ​Calculation of Conversions​.

    • Conversions (Total): This entry shows the total number of conversions resulting from messages sent within the split sendout. This entry is not specific to one conversion tracking. That is, every recipient who completes a conversion (regardless of which specific conversion it is) is included here. The Conversions (Total) is calculated on the basis of the last click activity.     • Total Sales: This entry displays the total amount of sales resulting from the message. This entry is not specific to one conversion tracking. That is, any sale resulting from conversion tracking contained in the message is included here.
