Add a condition to all your segments identifying only contacts who have opened a number of emails within a period of time, thus demonstrating a level of engagement. Sending messages to contacts who do not open them may lead to your emails being blocked by email service providers.


Store the following contact information as custom attributes in the Engage system:
  • Age
  • Location

  • Condition 4
    Use the condition Email Activity > Opened. Then select a number of emails and a time range that reflects your definition of engagement. In our example, we filter out people who have opened at least two messages in the last three months.
