Click Dashboard > Start. The Start Page opens with the Scheduled Sendouts card.

Purpose

The Scheduled Sendouts cards provide you with information about upcoming group sendouts. The cards include both manually scheduled sendouts and sendouts that are scheduled with a time-based automation.

The cards include scheduled activities for the next 15 days. There is one card for each scheduled sendout and time-based automation.

With these cards, you see at a glance what sendouts and automations are scheduled to take place in your Mapp Engage system. Then you can decide whether you want to edit or reschedule any of these sendouts.

You see all the scheduled messages for which you have the necessary permissions, including sendouts that your team members have scheduled.

Sendouts (Email, SMS, and Mobile Push)

These cards display information about scheduled group sendouts. Each scheduled sendout has a separate card.

Hint:

There are no cards for single messages. For more information about the difference between group and single messages, see Group Messages and Single Messages in Mapp Engage.

The start page displays all group sendouts that are scheduled for the next 15 days. The cards are sorted by sendout date and time. The next scheduled sendout appears at the top.

Item

Description

 Name

Displays the name of the message. You name the message when you create it.

Sendout Type

Displays the type of sendout.

  • Group Message: A group message is sent to a subset or all members of a group. For more information, see Group Messages and Single Messages in Mapp Engage.

  • Split Sendout: A split sendout is the simultaneous sendout of two or more variations of a message. Each version goes to a small portion of the total group. Each split variant has its own card, and the main sendout has another card. For more information, see Evaluating Split Message Statistics.

  • SuperMessage: A SuperMessage is a message that is sent to the members of all subgroups in a SuperGroup. The sendout of a SuperMessage results in the creation of a new message (the submessage) for each individual subgroup.

Channel

Displays the sendout channel of the message.

  • Email: The sendout is an email message. For more information, see Email.

  • SMS: The sendout is an SMS message. For more information, see SMS Messaging.

  • Mobile Push: The sendout is a mobile push notification. For more information, see Mobile Push.

App Name

Displays the name of the mobile app that receives the push notification. This information only appears for mobile push sendouts.

Sendout Time

Displays the date and time when sendout is scheduled to start.

Group

Displays the name of the sendout group.

Group Size

Displays the number of active members in the group when Mapp Engage scheduled the sendout. If new members subscribe, or existing members unsubscribe, the group size can change before sendout.

Other factors also affect the final number of messages in the sendout. The current group size does not reflect whether any addresses appear on a blacklist or Robinson list.

If the sendout has a selection, the group size is not displayed. A selection changes the final size of the sendout.

Selection

Displays the name of the selection that is applied to the message (if any). A selection is a type of audience filter. A selection finds contacts who match the criteria that you define. You can use selections to send targeted messages to a specific audience. If you did not apply a selection to the sendout, this line is empty.

Opens the Message Preview window in a separate window. In this window, you can view your message, review the personalizations, and send a copy of the message. For more information, see Email Message Preview (window). If the sendout type is a split sendout, no preview is available. The variant that Mapp Engage sends as the main sendout is only determined immediately before sendout.

Automations

These cards display information about upcoming automated email sendouts.

Cards are created for group messages that are scheduled with the following time-based job: Send Prepared Message to Group. There are no cards for single messages. There is no information available for event-based sendouts, as event-based sendouts take place spontaneously in response to a system event or contact action.

Cards are created for automations that have the status Running or Scheduled.

The next execution date must be in the next 15 days.

  • Whiteboard: The automation was created on a whiteboard. For more information, see Whiteboard.

  • Time-based: The automation was created manually. For more information, see Time-Based Automation.

The Whiteboard and the automations use the same events and jobs. However, the user interfaces are different. The Whiteboard offers you a visual interface where you create and manage automations. The Automations area provides direct technical access to individual automations.

Sendout Time

Selection

Displays the name of the selection that is applied to the automation (if any). A selection is a type of audience filter. A selection finds contacts who match the criteria that you define. You can use selections to send targeted messages to a specific audience. If you did not apply a selection to the automation, this line is empty.
