We have optimized the algorithm for Best Sendout Time. With this new improvement, Best Sendout Time can also be calculated for recipients with less predictable email reading habits.

Key Benefits

  • The best sendout time can now be calculated for a larger number of contacts.
  • Though the existing strict calculation remains, we have added an additional, more flexible method on top of it. The best sendout time can now also be calculated for contacts with less predictable email reading times.

How does it work?

The best sendout time is calculated when clicks or opens are registered for a contact within a time interval. As of now, the algorithm calculates best sendout time for two intervals:

  • 1-hour intervals: A day is divided into twenty-four 1-hour intervals. This allows for selecting a very precise contact timeframe.

  • 3-hour intervals: A day is divided into twenty-four 3-hour intervals.  A new interval starts at every full hour, so they overlap. Compared to the first one, this algorithm allows for the best sendout time to be calculated for more contacts.

Engage registers in which interval the contacts clicks a link or opens an email, and uses the beginning of this interval as the best sendout time for this contact. The best sendout time can be calculated for each contact with interaction within the last 12 months.

Mapp is automatically applying both calculations. You don't have to select it manually in the configuration.
