Information

Field

Description

Type

Displays the type of sendout.

  • Standard: The sendout was a group message. A group message is sent to most or all members of a group.

  • Split: A split sendout is the simultaneous sendout of two or more variants of a message. Each variant goes to a small portion of the total group.

  • Sub: A sub-message is a message that is sent to one subgroup as part of a SuperMessage. The sendout of SuperMessage results in the creation of a new message (the sub-message) for each individual subgroup.

Status

Displays the status of the message.

  • Processing: Mapp Engage is preparing the message for sendout. Mapp Engage has not yet sent the message to any contacts.

  • Paused: A system user halted the message sendout temporarily. Mapp Engage no longer sends messages from this sendout. You can resume a paused sendout.

  • Canceled: A system user canceled the sendout manually. Depending on when the message sendout was canceled, some messages can already be sent. You cannot resume or reschedule a canceled sendout.

  • Sent: The sendout process for this message is complete. You can now view the message statistics to see how well your message performed.

  • Failed: Mapp Engage cannot complete the sendout process successfully. Start the sendout process again from the beginning. Failed messages cannot be resumed, but generic single actions like View, Statistics, and Edit are still available.

Sendout

This column shows the date and time when the message sendout was started.

Group Name

Displays the name of the sendout group.

Email

Displays the email address of the sendout group. The email address is not necessarily the "from" address that your contacts see in the inbox. You can see the "from" address in the Details area.

Subject

Displays the subject line of the email message. The subject line is visible to your contacts in their email inbox.

Name

Displays the name of the message in Mapp Engage. The message name is for internal use only. Your contacts do not see the message name.

Category Label

Displays all messages within a category. Enter the category code in the Category Label field and hit Enter. The list displays all messages in this category.

Tags

Displays any tags that were added to the message. You can add tags to a message during the message creation process to help with the management and organization of messages in Mapp Engage.

Accepted

Displays the number of messages that the receiving MTA accepted from Mapp Engage. Accepted messages are all messages that arrived at the client-server and did not produce a bounce. Accepted messages include messages that are delivered to the inbox and to the spam and junk folders.

Accepted messages are calculated as Accepted = Sent - Bounced

Bounced

Displays the number of messages that the receiving email server rejected. The system differentiates between hard and soft bounces. Messages that go into the spam folder or are answered through automatic replies such as out-of-office messages, are not bounces.

It occasionally happens that a receiving MTA incorrectly sends a bounce message back to the sending server. Mapp Engage compares these "false alarm" bounce messages with any recipient activity determined by the system, such as an open or a click. If a contact interacts with a message, the address is no longer considered a bounce. A false-alarm bounce does not contribute to the total number of bounces in the message statistics.

Confirmed Open Rate

The Confirmed Open Rate is the number of unique openers that are confirmed divided by the total number of accepted messages. Confirmed openers include all messages where the tracking pixel was displayed or a link was clicked. A recipient can open a message with images suppressed and not click any links, in this case, Mapp Engage does not register the open.

The Confirmed Open Rate is calculated as Confirmed Open Rate = Confirmed Opens / Accepted

CTR

The Click Through Rate (CTR) displays the number of recipients who clicked divided by the number of accepted messages. Each recipient who clicks a link is a clicker.

The CTR is calculated as CTR = Clickers/Accepted

Details

Field

Description

ID

Displays the unique message ID. Mapp Engage assigns a unique message ID to every message when it is created.

Channel

Displays the sendout channel. Mapp Engage supports the following sendout channels: email, SMS, and mobile push.

External Message ID

Displays the external message ID. The external message ID is a value that is added to links during message sendout. This value is then transmitted to an external system, such as a web analytics tool or e-commerce shop. Example: Every time that you send a newsletter, you add the external message ID to every link in the email. This ID helps you track the performance of each newsletter in your e-commerce system and web analytics tool.

From Address

Displays the "from" address that is displayed in the recipient inbox. This address is not necessarily identical to the group email address. You define the "from" address in the group settings.

Category

Displays the message category. A message category is a keyword that you assign to one or more related messages. Categories enable you to organize and identify related objects in the system.

Size

Displays the estimated size of the message. The size is calculated based on a personalized standard message that the system created. However, an individual message can be smaller or larger than the stated value.

Attachments

Displays any attachments that were sent with an email message.

Processing Start

Displays when the message processing began. Message processing can be scheduled up to a maximum of 72 hours before message transfer. The time frame for message processing and message transport is defined in the Prepare Sendout window.

Processing End

Displays when the message processing has finished. If the entry is empty, message processing is not yet complete.

Duration

Displays how long it took to process the message. If the entry is empty, message processing has not yet begun.

Transport Start

Displays when the message transport began. The time frame for message processing and message transport is defined in the Prepare Sendout window.

Transport End

Displays when the message transport has finished. If the entry is empty, message processing is not yet complete.

Duration

Displays how long it took to transport the message. If the entry is empty, message transport has not yet begun.

Group Size

Displays the number of active members in the group when Mapp Engage started the sendout. This number does not reflect whether any addresses appear on a blacklist or Robinson list. If the sendout has a selection, the group size is not displayed. A selection changes the final size of the sendout.

Selection

Displays the name of the selection that is applied to the message, if any. Selections filter contacts who match the criteria that you define. You can use selections to send targeted messages to a specific audience. If you did not apply a selection to the sendout, this line is empty.

Skipped

Displays the number of addresses that Mapp Engage skipped before sendout. An address can be skipped during sendout for several reasons. For example, the address is on a blacklist or Robinson list.

Messages Sent

Displays the total number of messages that the Mapp Engage mail transfer agent (MTA) sent.

Hard Bounces

Displays the number of hard bounces. A hard bounce is a message that was not delivered to the recipient due to a permanent problem. For example, a message sent to an email address that does not exist.

Accepted

Displays the number of Mapp Engage messages the receiving email server accepted. Accepted messages are all messages that arrived at the client-server and did not produce a bounce. This number includes messages that are delivered to spam and junk folders.

Displays the number of messages that the receiving Message Transfer Agent (MTA) accepted. This number includes messages that are delivered to the inbox and to spam and junk folders. Accepted messages are thus all messages that arrived at the client-server and did not produce a bounce.

Accepted messages are calculated as Accepted = Sent - Bounced

This information is displayed for group messages only.

Clickers

Displays the number of recipients who have clicked any link in the message. If a recipient clicks more than one link in the message, it only counts one time.

This information is displayed for group messages only.

Conversions (Unique)

Displays the number of recipients who have completed a defined conversion (for example, how many recipients completed a purchase).

This information is displayed for group messages only.
