Goal

To encrypt user data. Encrypted user data is no longer displayed on the user interface of Mapp Engage when an FTP path is displayed in plain text.

Prerequisite

You have the permission 160: System Administration: Create and Edit Credentials Records.

Background Information

The Credentials function provides different ways of managing sensitive data. The user name, user password, or the entire user account can be encrypted.

You can also grant access to the CMS of an external Mapp Engage system with the Credentials function. For more information, see Enable CMS Access to a Connected System.

Procedure

  1. In the Main Navigation menu, click User Management > Permissions> Credentials.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Define the name of the record in the Name input field.

The record name must be unique regardless of the selected type. The input field allows entry of up to 50 alphanumeric characters, but rejects capital letters.
  4. Select the record type from the Type drop-down list.
⇒ The available options are modified to match the selection.
  5. Enter the required information.
  6. Click the Save button.
⇒ The window closes. Mapp Engage generates placeholders according to the selected type.
  7. You can construct an FTP path for use in Mapp Engage with the placeholders that are generated for your encrypted data.
