Reacts to Email Message versus Email Reaction

This event and filter sound similar. It is important to understand the difference.

Email Reaction (Filter)

Reacts to Email Message (Event)

Summary

Email Reaction: The system only checks once whether the contact opened or clicked the email.

The filter creates a defined window of time when contacts must react to the email.

Reacts to Email Message: The system monitors the contact continuously. The system moves the contact ahead on the whiteboard plan when the contact opens or clicks the email.

The event reacts to contact email activity immediately.

Non-split

At a certain time, the system checks whether a contact has reacted to the email.

  • Yes: Contacts who react to the email by the time of the check continue to the next step of the path.

  • No: Contacts who do not react to the email by the time of the check exit the whiteboard.

  • Yes: Contacts who react to the email continue to the next step on the whiteboard plan.

  • No: Contacts who do not react to the email exit the whiteboard.

Split

Due to a current limitation, this filter does not work for the split email sendout.

  • Yes: Contacts who react to the email continue to the next step on the left split path.

  • No: After the timeout, all contacts who have still not reacted to the email continue to the next step on the other split path.
