Edit Read Mode (window)

Navigation Path

In the Main Navigation, click Audience > Administration.
⇒ The Contact Management window opens to the Group Members tab.
From the Group drop-down list, select a group.
⇒ The Group Members window opens.
In the Actions column, click Read Mode.
⇒ The Edit Read Mode window opens.

Purpose

In this window, you can change the read mode settings of a group member.

The read mode stores information about how a recipient prefers to receive messages within a Mapp Engage group.

Hint:

Read mode preferences are only valid within a specific group. These settings do not apply for messages that the contact receives from other Mapp Engage groups.

The preferences that you enter in this window override any read mode preferences that have been imported into Mapp Engage in an XML or CSV file

Action	Description
Set Read Mode	Saves changes to the read mode preferences and closes the window.

Settings

Email

This area controls read mode preferences for email.

You can only see these fields if the contact has an email address that is stored in their profile.

Field	Value	Description
Mode Selection	allow	If available, a group message is sent to the contact in this channel.
	deny	Group messages are never sent to the contact in this channel.
	prefer	The contact prefers this channel for communication.
Format Preference	email-html	The preferred email message format is HTML.
	email-html-multipart	The preferred email message format is a multipart email with both HTML and plain text.
	email-text	The preferred email message format is plain text.

SMS

This area controls read mode preferences for SMS.

You can only see these fields if the contact has a mobile number that is stored in their profile.

Mode Selection	allow	If available, a group message is sent to the contact in this channel.
	deny	Group messages are never sent to the contact in this channel.
	prefer	The contact prefers this channel for communication.
Format Preference	mobile-sms	The preferred mobile format is standard SMS (160 characters).

Mobile Push

This area controls read mode preferences for push notifications.

You can only see these fields if the contact has a mobile app alias that is stored in their profile.

Format Preference	fax-printed	The preferred format is standard push notification.
