Goal

To delete an account for a system user in Mapp Engage.

Prerequisites

  1. You have the permission to delete system user accounts: 2000 System Administration: View and edit all system users.
If this permission is not granted to your system role, contact your customer representative.

  2. The system user account that you want to delete meets all the following criteria:

    • The system role that is assigned to the account is ranked lower than your own.

    • The system user is not the owner of any objects in Mapp Engage.

    • The system user is not assigned any special group roles.

    • The system user has never been assigned a Social role.

Background Information

A system user can log in to Mapp Engage and work with your Mapp Engage system. When you create separate accounts for each system user, you improve the overall security of your Mapp Engage system.

When someone in your organization leaves or no longer requires access to Mapp Engage, it is important that you delete their system user account.

Before you delete a system user, check whether the system user is the owner of any objects in the system. If so, transfer ownership of those objects to another system user. Also, check whether the system user is assigned any special group roles for one or more groups in Mapp Engage. If so, change their group role assignment.

In some cases, you are unable to delete a system user because you cannot change the ownership of an object or the system user was assigned a Social system role. In this case, you can block system access for the system user. A system user who is blocked can no longer log in to Mapp Engage.

For more information, contact your customer representative.

Procedure

  1. In the main navigation, click User Management > System Users.
  2. Next to the system user you want to delete, click Delete. The system user is deleted, following an additional confirmation request.
