This job was previously called: Delete Group.

This job deletes a specific group from the system. The group members lose their membership in the group. Member addresses and user profile data remain stored in the system.

Group-specific data (for example, group attributes and member attributes) and the group statistics are permanently deleted.

The system does not check whether the group to be deleted is currently used in any active selections or in any other automations. Deleting a group currently in use in the system could cause another automation or selection to fail. No error message is sent.

Use Case​

This job is often used to modify automations that have been created via the API. For example, API calls are used to automate group creation in the system. The automations created by the API are visible in the interface in the ​Time-based Automations Overview​ window. This job can be used to modify these automations.

Basic Settings​

​Name​

This input field defines the name of the automation. The name is used to identify the automation in the system. It appears on the ​Time-based Automations Overview​ window. The maximum length is 100 characters.

​Description​

This input field defines a description of the automation. The description makes it easier to identify the automation in the system.

​Job​

This input field defines the job. For a list of all available jobs, see All Available Time-Based Jobs​.

Define Job​

This area defines the specific parameters of the job.

  • Group Name: This field defines the group to be deleted. Use the  symbol to search for a specific group.

Schedule

This button saves your changes and opens the ​Schedule Time-based Automation​ window. Here you define the date and time of execution. For more information, see Schedule Time-Based Automation (window)​.
