  1. In the Main Navigation click Audience >  Groups.
⇒ The Groups window opens to the Group tab.
  2. In the Actions column, click > Copy Group.
⇒ The Group Details window opens.

Purpose

In this window, you select configurations for the group that you copy. The copy is a duplicate of the original group. The new group has similar configurations.

What can I do in this window?

  • Define the name of the new group.

  • Define the email address of the new group.

  • Define if the owner of the group and other system users with special rights are copied to the group.

Some information is not copied as it is unique to the source group:

  • Email: The email address must be unique in Mapp Engage.

  • Members of the group: When you copy a group, members of the original group are not transferred.

  • Group messages: The messages that were sent with the original group are not associated with or copied to the new group.

  • Creation date: The creation date of the new group is the date when it was copied.

  • Group ID: Every group in Mapp Engage has its own internal ID. When you copy a group, a new group ID is assigned.

  • Group statistics: Group and message statistics for the original group are not copied to the new group.

  • Inbound mobile ID: If the group sends SMS messages, the keyword or numeric code for inbound SMS is not copied to the new group. It is not possible for two Mapp Engage groups to use the same inbound mobile ID.
