Purpose​

In this window, you manually apply link categories to the links in your message.

The link categories that you change or assign in this window override automatic link category assignment that is based on regex or a keyword. After you manually change or assign link categories in this window, Mapp Engage does not reapply any automatic assignments.

Background Information​

A link category is a keyword that you assign to one or more related links. Link categories enable you to organize and identify related links in the system. For example, use link categories to evaluate related links in the statistics. Or, use link categories in an automation to react when a contact clicks any link in a link category.

You can assign link categories in one of the following ways:

  • Automatically based on a keyword.

  • Automatically based on a regular expression.

  • Manually when you create the message.

Description

​URL / Description​

Displays the URL and the link text.

  • ​URL: ​Displays the destination URL.

  • ​Description:​ Displays the text that is displayed to the recipient.

​Current Category​

Displays the current link category. The current category can be assigned automatically based on regex or a keyword.

​New Category​

Defines the link category for the link. You can select a new link category from the drop-down list.

Select the ​No Category​ option to remove a link category from a link.

​OK​

Saves your changes and closes the window. Once you press the OK button, Mapp Engage does not reapply any automatic assignments.
