Goal

To analyze the success of single messages sent with an automation. For example, see how well your birthday messages are performing.

Prerequisites

Background Information

All single sendouts of a prepared message share one MID. Every single message sendout has the same MID as the prepared message. All single sendouts are evaluated together in the Statistics. One set of statistics is generated for all single messages ever sent from one prepared message.

Engage calculates the following statistics for single sendouts:

  • Total open and click rates.
  • The distribution of open and click rates over time.
  • Unsubscribes and spam complaints.

Procedure

  1. In the Main Navigation, click Statistics > Single Messages.
⇒ The Single Message Statistics Overview window opens.
  2. Locate the message. Click View Statistics.
    ⇒The Message Statistics window opens.
In this window you can see the total open and click rates for the single message.
At the bottom of the window, you see unsubscribes and spam complaints.
Click the Time Distribution button to view open and click rates over time.

If you want to check whether an individual contact received, opened or clicked a single sendout, you can view this history in the Message History window. For more information, see Message History (window).

If you want to be able to track individual single message sendouts, for example for analysis in another system, use the Transactional Message ID (TMID). The TMID makes each recipient's transactional messages individually identifiable.

  • Define a pattern for the TMID in the Group Settings, on the Sendout Options tab.

  • View whether a contact has opened or clicked a message with the TMID in the Message History window.

  • Export TMIDs from Engage with a Raw Data Export. For more information, see Raw Data Exports.
