In Mapp Engage, the Statistics area provides you with detailed information about the performance of your messages. Use detailed message tracking data to evaluate whether your messages reach your contacts and drive the results that you want.

The statistics offer real-time reporting of important KPIs, including opens, clicks, and conversions. You can also measure the number of forwards and whether these forwards resulted in audience growth. Information about bounces and deliverability can help you to identify problems with your address data or your sendout settings.

The statistics include tracking and response data for your email, SMS, and push notifications. Different data is available for each channel, depending on the technical capabilities of the channel.

Data, graphs, and visual analysis tools help you to evaluate the success of your campaigns. Multiple print and download options also help you to use the statistics data to create your own reports outside of Mapp Engage.

In addition to message statistics, Mapp Engage also offers contact and source statistics. These statistics provide you with valuable information about your digital marketing audience. With the contact statistics, you can view changes in group membership over time, or track and evaluate your overall audience development. The source statistics show you how many of your contacts came from internal and external sources.

Message Statistics (Email, SMS, and Mobile Push)

The statistics include tracking and response data for your email, SMS, and push notifications. Different data is available for each channel, depending on the technical capabilities of the channel.

Group message statistics and single message statistics are displayed in separate areas. For more information about the difference between group messages and single messages, see Group Messages and Single Messages in Mapp Engage.

Available Message Tracking Data

The statistics for each message include the following four main areas of analysis.

Statistics Area

Features

Delivery Performance

Provides essential details about message sendout and delivery.

In this area, you can:

  • Compare email delivery at different domains.

  • See how many addresses could not be contacted (bounced and skipped messages).

  • View the results of the Inbox Monitoring analysis.

For more information, see Delivery Performance.

Recipient Activity

Provides in-depth analysis of how your contacts responded to your email.

In this area, you can:

  • Analyze click rates by link or by link category.

  • Compare target group performance that is based on attributes that you define (for example, age or gender).

  • Analyze different variations of your message (created with complex personalization).

  • View the device analysis to see whether contacts opened your email on a desktop or mobile device.

For more information, see Recipient Activity.

Losses and Potential Reach

Reveals problems that appeared during the sendout, and any potential new contacts made through forwards.

In this area, you can see data for:

  • Unsubscribes

  • Bounces

  • Spam complaints

  • Invalid domains

  • Forwarded messages

For more information, see Losses and Potential Reach.

Conversions

Analyses whether your messages led to a desired conversion goal, such as a purchase or event registration.

For more information, see Conversions (window).

The calculation of email KPIs is based on the standards that are established by the Email Experience Council (EEC). These standards enable a higher degree of transparency in the gathered data and support international data comparison.

Raw Data Exports and Statistics

Raw Data Exports and Simplified Data Exports deal with raw data. Message Statistics deal with processed events - (CC & BCC addresses, Control Users, Counting Clickers as Openers, among others). Some metrics appear under the same name in both data exports, and in Message Statistics, but they are essentially not calculated in the same way. Therefore, do not compare Raw Data and Simplified Data Exports to Message Statistics.

If you do want to export your campaign performance, use the "Export Group Message Statistics" automation or use the Address Data Export.

Bear in mind that Raw and Simplified Data Exports have a 1-hour delay as compared to Message Statistics. Mapp therefore recommends executing your Raw and Simplified Data Export automation daily, in the night preferably covering the last 24 h of all messages and events.

For more information, see Raw Data Exports.

Contact Statistics

The contact statistics provide a detailed overview of the development of your contacts.

You can see how many members are saved in groups and the number of contacts who exist in the whole system.

Analyzing the number of contacts at the group level helps you to plan which contacts are included in which campaigns. This analysis also helps you plan which message sendouts led to the acquisition of new contacts for a group. Together with the corresponding message statistics, you can determine which messages were especially well received and led to a response from your recipients.

Analyze these contacts in comparison with the development of your contacts system-wide. For the entire system, you can verify how many groups and contacts are available for potential message sendout. Evaluate the success of your different campaigns at the system level.

For more information, see Contact Statistics.

Source Statistics

The source statistics provide a detailed overview of the number of contacts who exist in the system that came from internal or external sources. Internal sources include marketing campaigns or promotions. External sources include sweepstakes that a partner set up on an external website.

When contacts are imported into Mapp Engage, a specific origin can be assigned with the help of a source ID. This ID enables you to evaluate contact generation for quality, specifically its lifecycle and origin. You can, for example, evaluate the costs that are incurred for contact generation as compared to the number of newly generated contacts.

For more information, see Source Statistics.
