  1. In the Main Navigation, click Administration > Attributes > Related Data.
  2. In the Actions column, click > Show Structure or the symbol.

The Related Data Structure for Data Set: <Name> window

The structure of the related data set defines the individual data fields in which data is to be stored. The structure must be manually created before the data is imported.

The column containing the key (i.e. the column that is linked to the attribute) is not created in the structure. In a CSV file, this is always the first column. In an XML file, this tag is marked with row-key.

  • Add new column: This button opens the Add New Column window. This is where you define the specific columns that correspond to the imported data in the CSV or XML file (see Add New Column (window)).

  • Show: This button filters the displayed columns:

    • Active: shows all columns that can be used for data import.

    • Archived: shows the columns that are still saved in the related data set, but which are no longer used for the data import, message composition, selection, or personalisation.

  • Selection of individual columns of the related data set: By checking the box at the end of each row, this row is selected for an activity. The activities are started with the button at the bottom of the site. Depending on the view, these buttons are:

    • Archive: This button archives the selected columns or data fields. It is not possible to create a column with the same name as an archived column until the old column has been deleted.

    • Delete: This button deletes selected columns.

    • Reactivate: This button converts archived columns to active columns. Data saved in the columns can thus be used again.

Available Actions for Related Data Sets

Existing columns can be edited in the Action column.

To open the menu of available actions, click the symbol in the Action column.

Clicking  opens the Change Default Value window. In this window, you can change the default value that was defined when the column was created.

  • Edit Default Value: This action is available for enumerated data. It opens the Edit Default Value window. In this window, you can change the default value that was defined when the column was created.

  • Add a Value for the enumeration: This action is available for enumerated data. It opens the Set Enumeration Value window. With an enumeration, you can specify that only certain values can be imported into a data column. You can define which values should be imported into the column in the Set Enumeration Value window.

  • Remove Enumeration: The action removes the enumeration. The imported data can now have any value.

Visible information about each related data set (table columns)

  • Column Heading: Shows the name of each of the columns in the Related Data Set. The name of the column must correspond to the column name used in the import file.

  • Data Type: Shows the type of data that was imported into the column. Possible values are:

    • Number

    • Date

    • String

    • Boolean

  • Default Value: Shows the default value of the column. The default value can be freely selected and is inserted into the column when no other value is specified during the import.
