This how-to is an example of how you can set up a simple Wishlist Campaign using the Wishlist Event in Mapp's Whiteboard.

Prerequisites

In order to use product details (such as image, URL, etc.) in Wish List, Abandoned Cart, Price drop, Low stock and Back to stock campaigns, you need:

  • regular (e.g. once per day) Product Catalog updates set up in Mapp Engage,
  • working Mapp Acquire account, or Wish List set up via the relatedData createRecord API endpoint.

Procedure

A) Configure Wish List Add event in Mapp Acquire

  1. In your Mapp Acquire account go to Data Collection > Tracking Pixels.
  2. Create a new pixel, or edit an existing one. Click Configure On-Site.
  3. Click Choose Event and select Wish List.
  4. Under Type select Wish List Add. For all users that are matched (the cookie ID is matched with contact ID), the added item will be stored in Wishlist Related Data table.

  5. Using the Visual Tagger, provide the CSS path to elements on the page with required fields - Product SKU and Price and - if possible and relevant - with size.

If your page does not require that size is added to the Wishlist, only Product SKU data will be stored in Related Data. For more information, see Visual Data Collection in Mapp Acquire.

  6. Under Capture Wish List Attributes define the Product SKU and Price
  7. Drag and drop the Element Click condition and provide a path to the Add to Wishlist button.
  8. Click Publish.

B) Configure Wish List Remove event in Mapp Acquire

If you configure this event in Mapp Acquire and set it as a goal in the Whiteboard in Engage, the automation will stop when this event happens. This is a recommended step because it prevents you from overcommunicating with your contacts.
  1. In your Mapp Acquire account go to Data Collection > Tracking Pixels.
  2. Create a new pixel, or edit and existing one. Click Configure On-Site.
  3. Click Choose Event and select Wish List.
  4. Under Type select Wish List Remove. This event will remove the item from the Related Data table.

  7. Drag and drop the Element Click condition and provide a path to the Remove from Wishlist button.
  8. Click Publish.

C) Create the Whiteboard

  1. In your Mapp Engage account go to Automations > Whiteboard New and create an event-based Whiteboard.
  2. Click the pencil to edit the Whiteboard.
  3. Select Wishlist Event as your entry event.
  4. Define details of the Wishlist Event.
    1. For React on select Add.
    2. In Whiteboard Audience Definition specify the group.
    3. In Event Definition select Specific Wishlist Product.
    4. Click Add Criteria and configure the criterion as follows:
      1. Criteria: Product SKU
      2. Operator: Matches
      3. Value: your product SKU, for example SKU 723163

You don't have to specify the SKU. If you decide not to, the Whiteboard will react to any Wishlist Add event.

    5. Click Save Criteria.
    6. Click Apply . Add more criteria as needed.
  5. Add step Wait and define the required timeframe.

In this example, we added 3 days.

It is good practice to let some time pass between your contact adding a product to their wish list, and sending a follow-up message. If the contact purchased the product during this time, the change will be registered in related data and the contact will be removed from the Whiteboard. This way, you avoid superfluous communication with your contact.

  6. Add the job Send Email, or any other message of your choice.
  7. To add a Whiteboard Goal, click Setup in the upper right-hand side of your Whiteboard canvas.

  8. Under Whiteboard Goals click Add Event.
  9. Select Wishlist Event from the list and configure it as follows:

    1. For React on select Delete.
    2. In Event Definition select Specific Wishlist Product.

    4. Click Save Criteria.
    5. Click Apply . Add more criteria as needed.

You can add the Goal at any time during the process of creating your whiteboard.

  10. Activate your Whiteboard.
