Goal​

To schedule the later sendout of a draft message or a prepared message.

Background Information​

The message is first prepared for sendout. This includes selecting the appropriate group, assigning any desired selections, etc. The message is then scheduled for sendout at the desired day & time.

Procedure​

  1. Click ​Messages> Outbox> Email or SMS​ in the ​Main Navigation​.
    ⇒  The ​Processed Messages Overview​ window is opened.
  2. Click:
    1. New Message​ button to compose a new message - or - 
    2. Prepared Messages​ and open an existing prepared message - or -
    3. Drafts​ and open an existing draft message.
      ⇒  The ​Compose Message​ window is displayed.
  3. Click ​Prepare Sendout​.
  4. The ​Prepare Sendout​ window opens.
  5. From the drop-down list ​Choose Group​, choose the group to which the message will be sent.
  6. In the field ​Message will be​, choose the radio button ​Sent​.
  7. From the drop-down list ​Selection​, choose the selection to be applied to this sendout, if any. 
  8. In the area ​Schedule Date​, choose ​later​. Additional fields for scheduling the sendout appear:
    • In the first input field, enter the date and time of sendout.
    • In the second input field, choose the time zone for sendout.

  9. To send the message to only a portion of the group, open the additional area ​Advanced Options​. Under ​Number of Recipients​, choose one of the following:

    • ​all:​ By selecting this radio button, the message is sent to all recipients of the group.

    • percentage:​ message will be sent to __ percent of (number) of recipients: This radio button send the message to a certain percentage of the (selected) recipients of the group. The recipients are chosen at random. The input field is used to specify the percentage of recipients to whom the message will be sent.

    • ​number:​ message will be sent to ___ recipients of (number) of recipients: This radio button send the message to a certain percentage of the (selected) recipients of the group. The recipients are chosen at random. Note: This option cannot be used in conjunction with a selection. The input field is used to specify the number of recipients to whom the message will be sent.

  10. To choose a specific sendout format, open the additional area ​Advanced Options​ and use the checkboxes under Sendout Format​ to select the desired formats to be included in the sendout. Only those formats for which content has been entered during message creation can be selected.

  11. To assign a category to the message, open the additional area ​Advanced Options​ and use the ​Message Category​ drop-down list to select the desired category. For more information see ​Message Categories​.

  12. ​Expression language (Regex)​ can be used to manually program a selection of recipients for the sendout. Enter this expression language into the input field ​Selection - Related Data​. The selection can refer to related data or to attribute
    data. This input field is for very advanced users.

  13. Click the button ​Check Message​ to continue with the sendout.
    ⇒  You will be directed to the ​Summary of Sendout​, where you can review the message and sendout settings one final time before scheduling the sendout.
