This job imports coupons into a predefined coupon list. The coupons are imported from a server in CSV or XML format.

Basic Settings​

​Name​

This input field defines the name of the automation. The name is used to identify the automation in the system. It appears on the ​Time-based Automations Overview​ window (see Time-Based Automations Overview (window)). The maximum length is 100 characters.

​Description​

This input field defines a description of the automation. The description makes it easier to identify the automation in the system. This is helpful if many automations of the same type are created.

​Job​

This input field defines the job. For a list of all available jobs, see All Available Time-Based Jobs​.

Define Job​

This area defines the specific parameters of the job.

  • Import Mode: This drop-down menu defines how the data will be imported.

    • Add: This item adds the coupons to the coupon list. Coupons already existing in the coupon list are skipped. The imported coupon codes are added to the coupon codes already available in Engage.

    • Replace: This item deletes all the existing coupon codes in the coupon list and imports the codes contained in the file as new codes.

    • Delete: This item deletes all coupons in the coupon list that are contained in the import file. The only coupons that remain in the coupon list are those that were not in the import file.

  • System Name: This drop-down list selects the system. If the system has multiple domains they are listed here. The choice of the domain does not have any effect on the import or processing. Any available domain can be chosen. The automation is not affected by the domain selection.

  • Encoding: This drop-down list defines the character encoding of the imported file. The encoding must match the encoding of the import file.
    UTF-8 is the most common character set for Unicode characters (for more information see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UTF-8)). This character set supports all characters, including those used in Middle Eastern and Asian languages. ISO 8859-15 sufficient for imports in Western European languages.   • Source file: This input field defines the name of the import file.

  • File Type: This input field defines the format type of the source file.

    • Txt: This item defines that the file is a Txt file.

    • CSV: This item defines that the file is a CSV file. Custom parameters are required to upload a compressed file or a CSV file that that uses a separator other than a comma.

  • Server: This input field defines the server where the file is saved. A connection can be established to a server address over FTP (FTP, PFTP (passive FTP), AFTP (active FTP), SFTP, FTPS.
    This address has the following format: protocol://user:password@host.port/url-path.
    Example: ftp://joesample:1password@ftp.teradata.com/exportdata
    The server access data can be encrypted with Transfer Security. The user name, password or complete user account are specified with placeholders for Transfer Security records.

  • Coupon List: This input field defines into which Coupon List the coupons are imported.

  • Parameters: This area defines additional parameters for the job.

This button saves changes and opens the ​Schedule Time-based Automation​ window. Here the date and time of execution are defined (see Schedule Time-Based Automation (window)​).
