Subject Line

Setting

Description

Subject

Defines the subject line that appears in the email inbox of your contacts. Mapp Engage does not limit the number of characters you enter in this field. However, we suggest that you keep the subject line short. 50 characters is a good length for an email subject line.

Use Default Subject

Adopts the default subject line for the message. Clear the check box to edit the subject line.

Customized Email Header

In this area, you can add additional information to the header of the email.

Much of the header information is either added automatically by the system or can be specified in separate areas of Mapp Engage. This includes reply handling or sendout time. For more information, see Reply Handling (tab). The input fields here are used to create non-standard header information and less commonly used entries.

For more information, see http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2076.

  • Left input field: This input field defines the name, and the tag, for the entered value (for example Message ID:, Content type:, Subject:, etc.). For information about officially valid email-header extensions, see http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2047.

  • Right input field: This input field makes it possible to define the value set for the extension.

The system message header that you enter here overrides any header that is defined in the group settings. For more information, see Sendout Options (tab).
