Engage offers over 30 different events. An event triggers an automated job in an event-based automation. See ​Event-Based Automation​.

The events are listed here with a short description and a link to a separate page with more information. On the user interface, the events are divided into categories.

Message​

Description

Message Forwarded (C)​

A contact forwarded a message using the Engage forward functionality. This does not include when the message is forwarded using the forward functionality of the recipient's email client.

Message Reply Received (C)​

A contact replied to a message by clicking the reply button in his email client or responding to an incoming SMS.

You need to configure the ​Reply Handling​ in the group settings before using this automation.

Single Sendout Finished (C)​

A single message was sent to a recipient. Single messages are messages that are sent to only one recipient at a time, rather than to a whole group.

​Response Received (C)​

The Engage system received a technical response after sendout regarding a problem with message sendout or delivery.

​Message Link Clicked (C)​

A recipient clicked on a link in a message.

Message Opened (C)​

A recipient opened a message.

Group​

Description

Member Added to Group (C)​

A new member was added to a group without an opt-in confirmation. The notification mode is ​Add with Message​ or ​Add without Message​.

Member Added to Group (C)​

A new group was created in Engage. This includes manual group creation or group creation via API or control XML.

​Group Sendout Started (S)​

Sendout of a group message has started.

Group Sendout Finished (S)​

Sendout of a group message has finished.

Subscribed to Group (C)​

A new member subscribed to a group. Subscription must include an opt-in confirmation.

Transfer by Selection Finished (S)​

A selection of contacts was successfully transferred to a different group.

Unsubscribed From Group (C)​

A member unsubscribed from a group, for example via API or by using the unsubscribe link in the ​Engage Variables.​

​Profile Data Changed (New) (C)​

A contact's profile data was changed.

​Profile-Based Automation Applied (S)​

A profile-based automation was applied.

Registered to System (REST) (C)​

A new contact was added to the system with the API method ​UpdateRecipientNoMsg​ or ​UpdateRecipientMsg​ with the parameter ​Self=True​.

Credit Changed (S)​

A system user's credit was changed.

​Event-Based Automation Finished (S/C)​

A preceding event-based automation executed.

​External HTTP Request Received (S)​

An HTTP request was received from an external server. This could be information from a website or shop system. It is possible to limit the event to requests containing certain information or parameters.

​Logged on to System (S)​

A system user logged in to the Engage system. This includes both an API login and login via the user interface.

Mbox File Processing Finished (S)​

The Engage system has finished processing and sending an mbox file.

​Time-Based Automation Finished (S)​

A preceding time-based automation executed.

​Conversion Registered (C)​

Engage received information about an external event, such as a purchase in an online shop.

Import of a file with contact addresses and profile data has finished.
