Here you can create alerts for the selected account or select a predefined alert template from the Alert Library.

The predefined alert templates enable you to create smart alerts in no time. You don't even have to worry about which metric or dimension to apply. The only thing you must decide is when you want to get notified, for example when "the engagement of the users changes". The associated metrics and dimensions are filled in automatically.

Choose the metric that you want to monitor.

Alert Library

If you select an alert template from the Alert Library, you do not have to change anything here. The fields Metric and Grouped by dimension are filled in automatically.

Grouped by dimension

Select if you want to filter a metric by a dimension.

  • Top [X]: Select how many values of the dimension should be monitored.

    Example
    Metric:  Visits
    Dimension:   Device Class Top 3
    Result: The number of visits for each of the Top 3 Device Classes are monitored.

Alert Library

If you select an alert template from the Alert Library, you do not have to change anything here. The fields Metric and Grouped by dimension are filled in automatically.

  • You can add an additional filters to the dimension by clicking on Filter. The available operators are:
    • Equals / Not equals
    • In list / Not in list

Alert type

  • Smart Alert
    Based on machine learning, the system will automatically compare historical data to current data. If there is a significant change, you get informed.

  • Rule-based Alert
    You select the criteria when an Alert should be triggered.

    • Change by absolute: checks for a change of an absolute number

    • Change by %: checks for a change of a relative share

    • Greater than:  checks for an absolute number

    • Smaller than :  checks for an absolute number

  • Comparison Timeframes
    Alerts compare changes between two time periods:
    • Yesterday with day in previous week
    • Last 7 days with previous 7 days
    • Last month with previous month
    • Last month with same month last year
    • Last 7 days with same 7 days before

Sensitivity

(only for Alert type Smart Alert)

Lets you decide, how tolerant the trigger is to unexpected values.

AnomaliesWhat kind of changes the alert is triggered by. This can be either Spikes, Drops, or both.

Frequency

Determines how often an alert is checked.

  • Hourly: Once per hour. Data is always checked for the hour before the last hour as it must be assured that all data is available. Example: An alert recognized at 11am shows an anomaly for the hour 9–10.

  • Daily: Once per day. The check is done in the morning (system time) when the data for the previous day is available.

Description

Name

This name is used in the notifications you get when this alert is triggered. We recommend providing a self-explanatory name.

Description

This description is displayed in the alert overview. You can use it to give an idea of what this alert is about.

Spike Message

You can add a message that is shown in the email when the value is higher than expected.

Alert Library

If you select an alert template from the Alert Library, you find a Spike Message prefilled. The message contains possible reasons in detail.

Drop Message

You can add a message that is shown in the  email when the value is lower as expected.

Alert Library

If you select an alert template from the Alert Library, you find a Drop Message prefilled. The message contains possible reasons in detail.

Recipient ’s Email

Add all email addresses to which the alert should be sent. Use ";" as a separator.
