This whiteboard job changes the membership of a contact in one of the following ways:
- Add to Group
- Remove or Unsubscribe from Group
This job adds a contact to one or more Engage groups.
- Engage does not add the following types of contacts to the group, and does not report an error in these cases:
A contact who is already a member of the target group.
A contact who is on the group blacklist.
A contact who has Pending status in the target group.

Remove or Unsubscribe from Group
This job removes or unsubscribes a contact from one or more Engage groups.
When you remove or unsubscribe a contact from a group, group-specific data is deleted for the contact. Group-specific data includes member attributes and group membership statistics. All other profile data remains unaffected.
This job does not exclude the group owner. This job can remove the owner of the group from the group.
Remove: A removal is valid for one Engage group. The other group memberships of the contact remain unaffected. A removal is not recorded as an unsubscribe in the group statistics. Removals do not affect developments in group size in the Contact Statistics area of Engage. The contact does not receive a confirmation email.
Unsubscribe: An unsubscription is valid for one Engage group. The other group memberships of the contact remain unaffected. Contacts who unsubscribe from a group are counted as unsubscriptions in the statistics. Unsubscriptions affect developments in group size in the Contact Statistics area of Engage. Mapp Engage does not send an unsubscribe notification.
