  1. In the ​Main NavigationclickData Management​ >​ Exports.

  2. Click the Create button.
     Wizard step 1. Type​ opens.
  3. Follow the wizard to step ​7. Summary​.

Step 7. Summary​

This step displays an overview of the selected export data and settings. Here you can check and modify the export before you save the export configuration. The different areas of the window correspond to the individual steps of the wizard.

Type & Time Frame​

This area shows basic information about the export.

  • Type:​ Displays the type of export which is selected.

  • Description:​ Displays further information about the export configuration. Descriptions are optional

  • ​Time Frame: Displays the range of time that is included in the data export and the time zone that Engage uses to calculate the period. The export contains all data for all selected events within the defined period. That means all data that is associated with a message sent within the defined period or a maximum of 30 days earlier.

Message Selection

This area shows the criteria with which messages are selected. If all messages are selected for export, Export All Messages is displayed.

  • Groups:​ Shows the number of groups whose messages are selected for export.

  • Messages:​ Shows the number of messages that are selected for export.

  • ​Total Messages:​ Shows the total number of messages that are included in the export currently.

Exported Data​

This area shows the amount of data for each category. If no data is exported for a selected category, a dash is displayed.

  • Identifiers:​ Shows the number of user identifiers that are selected for export.

  • ​General Information:​ Shows the number of general information options that are selected for the export.

  • ​Groups and Messages:​ Shows the number group and message data types that are selected for export.

  • Events:​ Shows the column names of events that are selected for export for which Engage exported at least one data point.

  • Standard Attributes:​ Shows the number of standard attributes that are selected for export.

  • Custom Attributes:​ Shows the number of custom attributes that are selected for export.

  • Member Attributes:​ Shows the number of member attributes that are selected for export.

  • ​Group Attributes:​ Shows the number of group attributes that are selected for export.

Export Configuration

This area shows the output settings for the export data.

  • Format:​ Shows the format of the export file.

  • Encoding:​ Shows the encoding of the export file.

  • Export Even If Empty:​ Shows whether a file is exported when no data is available.

  • ​Split Files:​ Shows whether the export is divided into to multiple smaller files.

  • Compression:​ Shows the compression method Engage used for the export file.

  • ​File Name:​ Shows the structure of the export file name.

  • Destination:​ Shows where the export file is saved.

Actions

  • Cancel:​ Ends the creation or editing of the export, after an additional confirmation request. All changes are lost.

  • Back:​ Opens the previous step of the wizard.

  • Save:​ Saves the export configuration and opens the Export Overview window. Once the export settings are saved, you can copy them to create additional exports easily and efficiently.
