- In the Main Navigation, click Data Management > Exports.

Step 3. Parameters
This step defines for which messages event data is exported. The events (rows) included in the export are always associated with a message.
You can select individual messages or message categories. Or you can base the message selection criteria on the sendout group or group category. You can also combine message and group criteria in the same export configuration.
Export Messages: This area defines the messages for which data is included in the export file.
Export All Messages: Exports data for all messages in the system. If your export includes events from many messages, the export file that is generated with this setting can be large.
Export Specific Messages: Exports event data that is associated with specific messages. The window expands to define how messages are selected.
When you select Export Specific Messages, the maximum number of message IDs per data export is 10,000. This limitation does not apply for the Export All Messages option.
Data from archived messages is never included in the export.
Select by Group: Selects messages with group-related criteria.
Specific Groups: Selects messages that were sent in one or more specific groups. Click the Add button to search and select groups.
Group Categories: Selects messages in one or more group categories. Group categories make it possible to select multiple groups that have the same category simultaneously. All messages that are sent in the selected groups or categories are included in the export. For more information, see Group Categories.
Available: Displays all group categories in the system.
Selected: Displays the group categories that are currently selected for the export.
You can use group-related criteria to select the messages for which Engage exports event data:

When you select messages by the group or group category, event data from the following messages is included in the export:
Event data for messages in the selected group or with the selected group category that were sent within the time frame that you defined.
Event data for messages in the selected group or category that were sent in the 30 days before the time frame you defined. Tracking events such as clicks and conversions usually occur soon after message sendout. Therefore, Engage also includes data from the messages that match your criteria and were sent up to 30 days before your time frame.
Regardless when the message was sent, data in the export is limited to events that Engage registered within the time frame you defined.
Select by Message: This area defines from which messages the selected event data is exported.
Specific Messages: Selects specific messages. Click the Add button to search and select messages.
Message Categories: Selects message categories. Message categories make it possible to select multiple messages that have the same category. All messages that are sent with the selected categories are included in the export.
Available: Displays all of the message categories in the system.
Selected: Displays the messages categories that are selected for the export.
When you select Export Specific Messages | Message Categories option, event data from the following messages is included in the export:
Event data for messages with the selected message category that were sent in the time frame that you defined.
Event data for messages with the category that were sent in the 30 days before the time frame you defined. Tracking events such as clicks and conversions usually occur soon after message sendout. Therefore, Engage also includes data from the messages that match your criteria and were sent up to 30 days before your time frame.
Regardless when the message was sent, the export is limited to the event data that Engage registers within the time frame you define.
Actions
Cancel: Closes the creation or editing of the export, after an additional confirmation request. All changes are lost.
Show Messages: Opens a window where you can view the 20 most recent messages in the export.
Back: Opens the previous step in the wizard.
Next: Opens the next step in the wizard.
